You've already met our 'main man', Scotty, who is as big a character as he looks! But he is only one of 24 horses we have at Redesadale. One of the reasons that we have so many is that we never get rid of any horse, when they become a 'senior citizen' they stay with us to enjoy a happy retirement. Mouse is a good example of this, 36 years old (or should that be young!) and still having a great time.

We have 2 shires, one whose great grandfather is in the Guinness Book of Records as the 'largest Shire in history'. We also have 3 welsh Cobs, a Welsh pony, Dales, 3 cross Shetlands, one fell and one coloured pony. Oh, and we can't complete the gang line-up without mentioning our two rescue dogs, Ratty and Spike, cat Harry (who is a girl!) and Bella our goat!

The gang includes: 8 ex racehorses, trained by Tim Easterby and Sir Gordon Richards. One of them, River, cost 26k guineas as a yearling, yet won more than that in prize money. There is nothing to beat the thrill of riding a thoroughbred!
